I'm a machinist. This book gives you any information you need when it comes to engineering and other mechanical facts. I have old versions and I like them all.

4 out of 5 stars If you need it, you need it   November 23, 2008
Any design engineer should have this book. It's got everything from fastener dimensions (if you have to model/draw them in your design) to std. clearance&interference fits to material properties and machining speeds & feeds.

If you're designing, manufacturing, or planning most any products that aren't circuit boards, it's probably a good idea to get a copy of this book.

3 out of 5 stars Better than a good thing but..   September 29, 2008

I love this book, but for me there is a mix of SI and Imperial units. I would much rather have everything in SI, except where the section is imperial, eg Imperial threads.
