| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description More than 75 percent of all people browsing the World Wide Web use Netscape, in part because of the program's many powerful features. Netscape 2.0, the browser's just-released major upgrade, offers even more features - all of which are fully explained in this new Visual QuickStart Guide. Using the VQS series' proven rich graphical approach, the book helps readers go from installing the software to using its advanced capabilities. Netscape 2.0's new features include a built-in emailer, a much-improved bookmark editor, support for superscript and subscript text, and a new plug-in architecture that allows seamless integration of Quicktime movies, Adobe Acrobat PDF documents, and Director multimedia presentations right into Web pages. For those building their own Web pages, for whom Netscape is the overwhelming application of choice, Netscape 2.0 includes dozens of improvements - ensuring that the Netscape 2: Visual QuickStart Guide will appeal to that growing group as well.

Excellent textbook as it has clear step-by-step examples April 8, 1997 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Ideal for beginners and students in a classroom setting.I use this book in teaching an International Marketing using the Internet course http://nsccux.sccd.ctc.edu/~jleonard For students who have never used the Internet, it offers step-by-step examples of what to click on, where to enter information, and what will be seen. A lot of screen shots. Very good for exercises. It does not spend time on the history, gopher, archie, veronica and other OBSOLETE ways to use the Internet. Very specific for Netscape 2.0 (there is also a Netscape 3.0 version out) and even shows how to make simple web pages using Netscape Gold with the Netscape templates. Avoids HTML for the most part.
